South Shore Opera Company of Chicago celebrates Black History Month with internationally acclaimed soprano Kimberly E. Jones and one of America's premiere conductors of his generation, Leslie B. Dunner, featuring the works from a cultural cross section of composers, writers and musicians. Also included is Dr. Louie Ramos' orchestration of Margaret Bonds' He's Got the Whole World in His Hands for the South Shore Opera Company.
Other composers include Duke Ellington, Scott Joplin, W.C. Handy and Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges, whose Symphony, Op. 11, is rarely heard.
