Chicago Modern Orchestra Project is happy to announce that conductor Renee Baker, Chicago Modern Orchestra Project and composer Gregg Wramage have received a Music Alive: New Partnerships composer residency grant from New Music USA and League of American Orchestras for the Chicago premiere of Mr. Wramage's chamber orchestra work, “in shadows, in silence”, in January 2014.

A weeklong  endeavor, this collaboration this upcoming January 2014 will involve rehearsing with the chamber ensemble, participation in education and outreach activities with audience members and elementary- to university-level student composers and instrumentalists. The residency will also include interviews, lecture/presentations, open rehearsals, audience discussions/Q&A, and a webcast.
