Plus, fellows from the Civic Orchestra and Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative perform music by Jessie Montgomery!

6:00 PM — Program with Jessie Montgomery begins.

Join WFMT’s Vice President and General Manager George Preston as he and Jessie Montgomery discuss her life, her music and her first year working with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as the Mead Composer-in-Residence.  Discover Jessie's process for composing a brand new orchestral work and what it is like for her to hear the piece brought to life by the CSO under the baton of Maestro Muti. You may even get a little insight on what she might have planned for future compositions. Don't miss this opportunity to get to know Jessie Montgomery at the Salon Series!

Before the program, enjoy a refreshment while hearing Jessie's compositional style and sound scape with performances of her work by Civic Orchestra and Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative musicians.
