Oak Ridge Civic Music Association's Chamber Music Series features the Grammy-award-winning Harlem Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
The quartet will present a pre-concert talk beginning at 7 p.m. — free with ticket purchase.
Tickets are $25 for adults; $10 for young adults (ages 19-29) $10; and free to youths 18 and younger (ticket required). Tickets and additional information are available at https://orcma.org/harlemquartet, or by calling (865) 483-5569 or emailing office@orcma.org, according to a news release.
Harlem Quartet appears by arrangement with Sciolino Artist Management and features Cuban violinist Ilmar Gavilan, American violinist Melissa White, Puerto Rican violist Jaime Amador, and American cellist Felix Umansky. The quartet advances diversity in classical music while engaging new audiences with varied repertoire that includes works by minority composers. Their Oak Ridge concert includes Mozart’s iconic “Dissonance” quartet plus music by American composers William Bolcom, William Grant Still, and Dizzy Gillespie.
