The Sphinx Virtuosi are bringing 
their 2019/20 tour program, For 
Justice and Peace, to the 
Carnegie Hall stage on October 
11th at 7:00 PM. Group 
performance tickets and 
exclusive box seat/gala tickets 
are available now. Single 
 performance tickets will go on 
sale later this summer!


Sphinx Overture violin 
 students from Detroit 
and Flint completed their 
end-of-year recitals. 
 Congratulations to all of 
the performers! We look 
forward to Overture 
summer camp this July 
at Gompers Elementary 
in Detroit.

Academy season begins 
June 9th at the Curtis 
Institute of 
Music. We look forward 
to kicking off the session 
with a masterclass with 
Curtis President, 
Roberto Diaz, and 
to subsequent sessions 
at the Cleveland Institute 
of Music and The Juilliard 
School.



Sphinx's President and 
Artistic Director joins 
other industry leaders 
on the 
Recommendation 
Board for the Lincoln 
Center's Avery Fisher 
helping to identify 
candidates for the 
prestigious Avery Fisher 
Career Grants.

the next NAAS 
Audition Intensive 
for woodwinds & 
brass August 25-29, 
2019. NAAS Audition 
Intensives hosted by 
New World Symphony 
offer mock auditions, 
lessons, and 
performance 
psychology training 
for Black and Latinx 
orchestral musicians.

The NAAS is building a national database of Black and Latinx musicians to connect qualified musicians of color with future orchestral opportunities.
