We are calling on all law enforcement and NOBLE members to
help us with aid to our neighbors to the north. The aftermath of
Hurricane Florence is bringing historic rainfall and subsequent
flooding. In preparation, we are activating the "Convoy of Care" for the
third storm season in a row. Here are the ways you can help:
This Monday & Tuesday from 10 am to 6 pm, collections of
bottled water, cleaning supplies, and diapers (all new and unopened)
will be accepted at WSB TV, 1601 W. Peachtree Street, Atlanta and Caring
for Others, 3537 Browns Mill Road, Atlanta.
We need volunteers to assist with the collection and
loading of trucks on both days. It is also possible you can take up a
donation at your workplace and bring it to one of the locations. PLEASE
REPLY TO THIS EMAIL IF YOU CAN VOLUNTEER AT ANY OF THE TWO COLLECTION
LOCATIONS.
Agency heads - if you are a member of GACP, you received an
email from Dwayne Orrick requesting help in uniform. Please let me know
if you are sending anyone.
Also for agency heads: we are also requesting marked escorts
once delivery plans have been finalized. The delivery date has not yet
been determined. It will depend on condition of the roads and the areas
the relief will be sent, first to the NC coast (Wilmington/New Bern
areas). Aid may also be sent inland, as we have just been notified of
evacuations of Fayetteville, and to parts of South Carolina. In the
meantime, we will collect as much as we can.

This Convoy of Care is a joint effort of NOBLE, Caring for
Others, GACP, Georgia Sheriffs Association, Georgia Motor Trucking
Association, and Atlanta Peach Movers.
