[Alexandria, VA] The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) honors the legacy and memory of one the most impactful global leaders, world diplomat, and former U.N. Secretary General, Kofi Annan.

Mr. Annan was the first Black African to lead the United Nations for two successive five-year terms, beginning in 1997. He was known for creating the new "norm for humanitarian intervention," creating spaces for peace in areas where they were not known before.

"NOBLE joins the world in sending its heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Annan family," stated Vera Bumpers, NOBLE National President. "We acknowledge and thank Mr. Annan for his service, leadership, and humanitarian efforts in seeking peaceful solutions as the world's top diplomat."
