My name is Daniel White some may know me as The
Blackalachian. Last year with zero hiking/camping experience I
thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. I filmed my
journey and shared it on youtube. I was overwhelmed by the amount of
love and support throughout my journey as well as shocked at the lack of
diversity on the trail. Since finishing the trail my message of Love
& Light has helped me gain somewhat of a voice in the outdoor
community. So I have decided that my next trip should be of substance,
so I did my research and discovered the Underground Railroad Trail. This
is a 2,005 mile trail which stretches from Mobile, AL north to Owens
Sound, Ontario. This time I will be biking the route instead of hiking.
This is also something I have zero experience in. I feel like this
journey will be an important learning experience for all as I will be
filming and stopping at notable points along the way to learn the
history of the Underground Railroad as well as side trips like the Route
that Martin Luther King Jr. took from Selma to Montgomery. As far as I
know I will also be the first person to attempt a complete journey of
this Trail in one go. This will be a tough undertaking but I also
believe in the mission. If this is something that you would like to get
behind and support you can donate here and please follow along with me
on YouTube @TheBlackalachian, I'll be starting in September. Love &
Light to All, Peace and Blessings!!!
