John Malveaux: MusicUNTOLD clarion call for letters to National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) requesting performance of SINFONIA No 5 by composer George Walker

MusicUNTOLD clarion call for letters to National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) requesting performance of SINFONIA No 5 by composer George Walker (latest and perhaps final major work). The piece was inspired by the horrible massacre at Emanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston 2015. George Walker was born in Washington DC and the NSO is his preference for the premiere. Although a timely composition for the 2017 season, the NSO decided not to program the piece during the 2017 season but they indicated they will program the piece NEXT SEASON. BUT, the NSO has not given a date for the world premiere NEXT SEASON

Please email AKGrossnickle@Kennedy-Center.org requesting a performance date for SINFONIA No 5 by George Walker. Please see George Walker interview Concise & Precise http://www.newmusicbox.org/articles/george-walker-concise-and-precise/
