ZIPPIA RATES XAVIER AS BEST COLLEGE IN LOUISIANA FOR GETTING A JOB
New Orleans, La. (April 11, 2017) – Xavier University of Louisiana is
the best college in Louisiana for getting a job. That’s the finding the
of Zippia – a new website dedicated to helping recent grads with their
career choices – which ranked Xavier number one in Louisiana based on a
study of job placement rates at year 10 after students graduated.
The site listed the top schools in each of the 50 states. The results
are here: https://www.zippia.com/advice/best-colleges-for-jobs/
Says Zippia: “One of the most important things to college freshmen, if
not the most important, is that the college they have chosen to attend
will ultimately help them find a job… Not all schools are equal in this,
and some colleges are vastly more supportive of their students’
post-graduation concerns than others.”
According to the California-based website, their rankings are based on
data provided by IPEDS (the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data
System), which is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by
the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education
Statistics (NCES). IPEDS gathers information from every college,
university, and technical and vocational institution that participates
in the federal student financial aid programs. More than 7,500
institutions complete IPEDS surveys each year, including research
universities, state colleges and universities, private religious and
liberal arts colleges.
Using IPEDS, Zippia compared the job placement ratings of colleges in
each state, looking specifically at employment levels at year 10 after
students have graduated.
