Dear Mr. Zick:

I have been thoroughly appreciative of your efforts of  AfriClassical.com.

I don’t know if you have heard about the establishment of a new initiative Maestro Riccardo Muti and I have created called the African American Network. We premiered it on Oct. 13, 2016 in a free community concert at Chicago’s Apostolic Church of God on Chicago’s southside with Maestro Muti, Zell Music Director and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) performing Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, Op. 72b and Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67.

The big excitement of the evening was the opening of the concert with Maestro Muti conducting the CSO and a community choral ensemble performing Roland Carter’s choral/orchestral  arrangement of “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing”. It was a big surprise and inspiring. (I was one of the Altos). I am the Instigator-Coordinator of this effort and it we have a big surprise coming!
