BREAKTHROUGH honors the life and music of Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a violinist and composer of African origin who, against all odds, rose to become one of the most prolific and forgotten figures of the 18th century. Directed by Vivian Phillips (Chair of the Seattle Arts Commission), the film also includes guest appearances by actress Molly Tomhave, Randy Engstrom (Director of the City of Seattle Arts & Culture), pianist Josh Rawlings, and bassist Evan Flory-Barnes, among other Seattle artists.
