Retired Metropolitan Opera Tenor and University of Michigan Joseph Edgar Maddy Distinguished University Emeritus Professor of Voice George Shirley performed Civil War era songs during 150th Anniversary Emancipation Proclamation Concert on September 22, 2012 in Los Angeles co produced by MusicUNTOLD and KUSC Classical Radio 91.5FM. I attended the University of Michigan for my MM and DMA. It was always so good to see Mr. Shirley in the hall. Always a smile and a hello, even though I am sure he had no idea who I was.
