Michael S. Wright: 'I will certainly audition this CD as I believe he has that refreshing sound I am looking for. Well done Daniel!'

Michael S. Wright writes:

Good grief! The repertoire listed includes pieces that my daughter learnt when she was about that age! These are works that may seem pretty easy to a seasoned concert pianist. I am at a loss as to why he missed out the first movement (allegro moderato) of the Haydn Hob XVI B flat sonata. However, most demand musicianship of the highest order and a young person’s interpretation may be very refreshing.

I was not over-convinced by the You Tube  example you posted as it seemed very ‘stiff’. The communication between the two was not ideal and as a result, it lacked the drive it so clearly needed. However something told me to look further and what I heard was really exciting! Hear him really perform a boogy on  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtIrd-hz_mA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-YcqcbjL9Q. This boy IS a musician and not a keyboard operator! His Doctor Gradus Ad Parnassum on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgj2amEyX54 is truly delightful...and the tricky Schubert Impromptu Opus No. 2 on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsInw9ZAj5E is very promising indeed! I will certainly audition this CD as I believe he has that refreshing sound I am looking for. Well done Daniel!!!
