The
2013 Travel Professionals of Color (TPOC) Conference and Trade Show
will be held in Trinidad and Tobago July 28th-August 4th, 2013. The 11th
Annual TPOC Conference, taking place at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad is
corresponding with the 175th anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago's
emancipation from slavery. Conference participants will get to
participate in the island nations' Emancipation Day celebrations. They
will also hear top travel industry professionals, and attend informative
workshops and panel discussions during the conference.
TPOC
is the first industry conference to focus on the needs and education of
today’s travel professional of color. The TPOC conferences allow
participants to learn how to start and grow a travel agency, network
with hundreds of other minority travel professionals, learn how to
market to the travel communities and more. Attendees also earn CLIA
credits towards accreditation. There is also a Heritage Summit and
participants will get to tour the island and visit heritage sites.
TPOC is an organization that promotes training, networking and support of minority travel professionals. TPOC seeks out travel suppliers who have an interest in reaching the multicultural market. The
TPOC conference & trade Show was organized in August, 2002 by two
African-American travel agents Charlotte Haymore and Betty Jones in
Denver, Co. The intent of the company is to sponsor conferences and many
other positive programs for the minority travel agents with a focus on
profitability and raising an awareness within the travel community
regarding professional services provided by capable minority travel
agents.
