Dear Friends of BlackPast.org:
I want to alert
all of you but particularly those in the Seattle area to a unique
opportunity to support our fundraising efforts at BlackPast.org (www.blackpast.org).
Oregon Jewelry artist and designer Susan Goodwin has generously offered
to hold a trunk show in Seattle on June 30 at the Queen Anne home of
Renee Stearns (201 Hayes Street) between noon and 5:00 p.m. A portion
of the sales that afternoon will go to BlackPast.org to support our
efforts to raise $15,000 to redesign the website. Susan has a long
artistic history in Seattle and even though she now lives in Oregon, she
values and supports the mission of BlackPast.org.
Pearls
are her passion. “There isn’t a woman alive,” she says on her website,
“who doesn’t shine brighter while wearing a strand of pearls.”
Susan’s
jewelry is sold at Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City, the
Museum of Glass in Tacoma, and in various boutiques and high-end
department stores in Seattle as well as Asia, Europe, and across the
U.S. This is wonderful opportunity to meet and support Susan Goodwin,
make new friends at the event, buy some amazing jewelry, and help
BlackPast.org. I hope to see you there. Also, please share the
