South Bend Symphony's 'Martin Luther King Celebration Concert' Jan. 17, 7pm; 'Special Guest Artist: Randall Goosby'

Randall Goosby, the 13-year-old violinist and Junior Division Winner of the 2010 Sphinx Competition, has also been the subject of numerous posts. The South Bend Symphony Orchestra ends the City of South Bend’s Martin Luther King Day Celebration with a concert honoring Dr. King on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the IU South Bend, Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts in North Side Hall Auditorium. The 7:00 p.m. concert features South Bend Symphonic Choir, IU South Bend Chorale and the IU South Bend Gospel Choir, under the direction of Dr. Marvin Curtis along with the South Bend Symphony Youth Orchestra and Mr. David Buggs. They will join Maestro Tsung Yeh and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra for an evening of inspirational music, from Schwantner to Uzee Brown. Special Guest Artist is Randall Goosby, violin, winner of the Junior Division of the Sphinx Competition. Concert goers can obtain the free tickets needed for admission by calling the South Bend Symphony office at 574.232.6343. Tickets can be picked up in the lobby of the North Side Hall the day of the concert starting at 6pm.
