I attended the premiere of composer/conductor Charles E. Dickerson and the Southeast Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of "I HAVE A DREAM" on January 9, 2011. The text is the I Have A Dream speech of August 28, 1963 by King. Approximately 2/3 of the audience gave a standing ovation. Literature was distributed announcing a global broadcast of the premiere on KTYM 1460 AM Radio also streamed on http://www.ktym.com Monday, January 17, 2011, 11:00PM PST. Maestro Dickerson solicited the audience to participate in an email campaign asking that the work be performed by the Southeast Symphony Orchestra and Chorus on August 28, 2011 at the dedication of the MLK Jr. Memorial on the National Mall.
