Feb. 26, 2010 Performance has been postponed due to winter storm, Crystal Garner tells us.
David Burnett's Feb. 19, 2010 Newsletter announced:
“The Country's only all African American Viola group, Longar Ebony Ensemble, a 12 Viola ensemble, will perform at City College, 25 Broadway, 7th Floor on Friday February 26, 2010 at 7p.m. Works by Rosario, Perkinson, Gershwin, Strauss (Polka), Gillespie and Salim will be performed. For further info, contact Crystal Garner: crystalviola@verizon.net”

AfriClassical asked Crystal Garner to name the members of the Ensemble, and to tell us what work or works of Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson would be performed. She promptly replied:
“Thank you for your interest. The performance is by New York's First Afro-American 12 Viola Ensemble. We are a small branch of The LonGar Ebony Ensemble, Ltd. We will be performing Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson's "Riffs, Romps and Stomps" for 12 violas at the City College Center for Worker Education. The violists are Alva Anderson, Anne-Marie Bedney, Sandra Billingslea, David Burnett, Tracey Dixon-Neverson, Melanie Dyer, Crystal Garner(-Founder of the viola ensemble and co-founder of LonGar), Adam Hill, William Houston III, Emanuel Howard, Judith Instell, and Allyson Morgan. Sincerely, Crystal Garner”

Prof. Dominique-RenĂ© de Lerma has compiled a complete Works List for Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, and has made it available for the composer's page at AfriClassical.com. The entry on the work in question reads: “Riffs, romps, and stomps in the form of prelude, canon, and postlude, for 12 violas.”
