The Washington Chorus: The world premiere audio recording of Damien Geter’s “Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow” is now on iTunes

TWC is now available on iTunes!

Today we’re thrilled to share with you our world premiere audio recording of Damien Geter’s “Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow,”

Now available for purchase and streaming on iTunes, Spotify, and dozens more digital music channels.

“Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow” is simply beautiful music: this is a poignant recording of an emotionally rich new work, taking inspiration from sources like the music of Bach and African-American spirituals as a meditation on loss, perseverance, resolve, and hope.

Another reason this project is unique:
TWC is among the first choirs in the county to release a recording that was executed 100% remotely – all our TWC choral singers recorded the choral parts from their homes during COVID-19 quarantine lockdowns across the globe!

Our guest soloists, MetOpera soprano Aundi Marie Moore and cellist Seth Parker Woods, also recorded their achingly beautiful contributions remotely from their homes, and then TWC Artistic Director Eugene Rogers worked closely with our friends at One Sample Media on editing, mixing, mastering, and production to achieve a recording of quality that we believe you’ll find to be beautiful, personal, and meaningful to hear and experience.

We hope you find meaning and an emotional resonance in our recording of this work.

You can also stream TWC’s recording of “Cantata” starting today on Spotify, iHeart Radio, Pandora, Amazon Music, Sirius XM, and YouTube

Sending all good thoughts,

Your friends at The Washington Chorus

PS
We love this quote from composer Damien Geter on his inspiration to compose the “Cantata” for The Washington Chorus: “Even though things may seem tough in the present moment, there is a light that shines towards the future.”
