The
Harlem Walking Tour video series highlights historic artistic figures
who either lived in or spent time in Harlem and how each person
contributed to the vibrancy and rich cultural landscape that make Harlem
what it is today. This project was conceived by husband and wife team, Terrance McKnight of WQXR and harpist-scholar Dr. Ashley Jackson.
The fourth
episode of the Harlem Walk Tour Video Series features the American
soprano, concert singer, and founder of the Harlem School of the Arts,
Dorothy Maynor. In honor of Women's History Month, Yolanda Wyns of
Harlem School of the Arts leads the Dorothy Maynor Singers in a tribute
to HSA’s founder as mentioned in PIX 11 News!

A Masterclass with Tia Allen

The Harlem School of the Arts and
The Harlem Chamber Players present a LIVE masterclass with Tia Allen and
the HSA string students.
Tia Allen has performed at Carnegie
Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Radio City Music Hall and Metropolitan Museum.
She is a fellowship member of Spoleto Festival in Charleston and a
six-summer veteran of the Aspen Music festival. She performs with the
Harlem Chamber Players and the MUNY Program. She received her BM and MM
in performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of
Music. She also studied at the Manhattan School of Music and received a
Professional Studies certificate in Performance and a Professional
Graduate Diploma in the Orchestral Performance Program.
