The Washington Chorus: The heart of the holidays, "Candlelight Christmas" from home on December 18, 19, or 20

Eugene Rogers writes:

Dear friend,

Next week, I hope you’ll join me as we celebrate the very heart of the holiday season: coming together with music in gratitude, love and joy.

This is my first time leading TWC's "Candlelight Christmas" concerts as Artistic Director, and I’m proud of what we’re putting together for you and your loved ones. Although I’m sad we can’t be together in person at The Kennedy Center Concert Hall or the Music Center at Strathmore like we usually are, I know that the online “Candlelight Christmas” shows we’re producing for you this year are beautifully sung and filmed.

I hope that when you join us to experience this intimate “Candlelight Christmas” from home on December 18, 19, or 20, it is an experience deeply meaningful, joyful, and moving for you.

Purchase Candlelight Christmas Tickets:

This “Candlelight Christmas” was filmed in part at the Music Center at Strathmore, with a chamber chorus of eight singers and myself, as well as organ and handbells. To this exquisitely filmed show we’re adding virtual performances by the full Washington Chorus, and a special Side by Side collaboration with the talented high school singers of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

>From “The Dream Isaiah Saw” to “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and many more treasured and new holiday favorites, we look forward to coming together in love and joy next week, even while physically apart. In my first holiday season with The Washington Chorus and as part of the DC regional community, I truly can’t wait to share this musical experience with you.

In gratitude and joy,

Eugene Rogers
Artistic Director
The Washington Chorus

PS
Our new “Carols on Demand” program is proving to be extremely popular; so much so that we are proud to announce we’ve added Metropolitan Opera soprano and TWC collaborator Aundi Marie Moore to the Carols on Demand roster! Ever wanted to have a MetOpera soprano serenade a loved one with a gorgeously sung holiday carol and meaningful personal message? Now’s your chance!
