On
this two hundred and forty-fourth birthday of our country, I fondly
recall a 2014 performance of the Morgan State University choir singing
“God Bless America”. We happened to be on our Middle East tour of
Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Erimates. During one concert in Dubai,
we were inspired to sing “God Bless America” as an encore. Despite
being in a foreign country, the rendition was received so
enthusiastically, that one might have thought only Americans were in
attendance. This arrangement features the quite poignant lyrics of the
verse. During these difficult times, I offer this recording to inspire
us all to be proud of our land of the free - our home sweet home. See
