Clipper Erickson: Works by R. Nathaniel Dett, Frederic Chopin and Ludwig van Beethoven live online at 4 PM ET Sunday, April 5, 2020

R. Nathaniel Dett (1882-1943)

Clipper Erickson writes:

The world needs music now more than ever.  A musician’s purpose is to provide it in whatever way they can.  This Sunday, April 5, at 4:00 I offer great music that has comforted me and given me strength over the last few weeks on a program given online.  Cunningham Piano has graciously allowed me to use their space.  I will share with you the soulful melodies of Chopin, the color and imagination of Nathaniel Dett and the Waldstein Sonata of Beethoven.  I know of no other pieces that express life giving power more.

Join me on Sunday or stream afterwards:

Donations are appreciated to help keep online performances going but don't let that be a reason to not watch - in these uniquely challenging times everyone is welcome!

In the meantime may two of Chopin’s Nocturnes take you on a journey of sorrow, darkness and passion followed by transcendent bliss that redeems the spirit.
