ROCO Concerto inspired by NASA, ancient Chinese instrument premieres Saturday

On Feb. 8, the single-movement concerto, featuring guest soloist Andy
Lin, will receive its world premiere in River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s
“Beauty is in the Eye” at the Church of St. John the Divine. Led by
conductor and first-time collaborator Christopher Rountree, the evening
will also include “Darker America” by William Grant Still, “Les Élémens”
by Jean-Féry Rebel, “Masonic Funeral Music in C minor, K. 477” by
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and three other world premieres that are a part
of the orchestra’s season-long FIFteen project of fanfares, interludes
and finales organized by composer Mark Buller.
