Durham Police Chief Cerelyn "CJ" Davis Sworn In as New President

of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE)

[Alexandria, VA] Durham Police Chief Cerelyn "CJ" Davis has been installed as the new National President of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. 

 

"It is an honor and privilege to continue to build upon the work of NOBLE'S Immediate Past President, Vera Bumpers. NOBLE has long been a leading voice in the law enforcement community, and under my leadership we intend to strengthen that voice," said President Davis. 

 

President Davis' priorities will consist of advancing NOBLE's strategic plan, moving forward with 21st century policing reform, and a focus on the reduction of gun violence in our communities.

 

Previously, Davis served as the 1st Vice President of NOBLE. She is also the first Black woman to lead the Durham Police Department after joining the department from Atlanta where she served as a Deputy Chief at the Atlanta Police Department.
