April was an exciting month of concerts and that excitement continues!  I am so honored to give the New York premiere of the Florence Price Violin Concerto #2 tomorrow with conductor Tom Cunningham and the Urban Playground Chamber Orchestra.  I only came to know of Florence Price four years ago when we performed some of her music at the Gateways Music Festival.  She was an incredibly gifted and prolific composer (1887-1953).  You can read more about her in this New York Times article and this website.    For more information about tomorrow's concert, "From Song Came Symphony," in collaboration with the Harry T. Burleigh Society, please click here.  I'm very happy to spend the next several months continuing to perform this work with conductor Michael Morgan at the Bear Valley (California) and Gateways (Rochester, NY) Music Festivals in July and August respectively. 

Please see below for some snapshots from my recent concerts in Carnegie Hall as co-soloist with my former teacher, former New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, with Leonard Slatkin conducting and Alec Baldwin hosting for the Manhattan School of Music Centennial Gala, in London for with the Chineke! Orchestra as soloist in the Errollyn Wallen Concerto Grosso in Queen Elizabeth Hall with Michael Morgan conducting, and finally my "The Fiddler Expanding Tradition" program at the Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts Series at Bruno Walter Auditorium.  It's always a pleasure to play the Fiddler program with my amazing concert band Joshua Camp, accordion, Stephen Benson, guitar, and Michael Blanco, bass.  I was honored to be featured a second time by Harry Smith and NBC Sunday Today for my work in creating Music Kitchen-Food for the Soul.  The piece aired April 14th- In case you missed it, you can watch the video here or below.  I even got to play a concert with the great Cyndi Lauper!  Please see below for a photo.
