OPERA@MORGAN PRESENTS Scenes from Great Moments in Operas by American Composers

MSU's Opera Workshop presents  a unique collection of scenes  from American operas (i.e.  performed in English). Works  from the following composers  will be featured: Scott Joplin Leonard Bernstein Gian Carlo Menotti Michael Ching William Grant Still Carlise Floyd Thursday, April 25, 2019 at  7 PM Tickets: $15 General  Admission available for in- person purchase at the MFAC  ticket office Students: No Charge Written by Janet Langhart  Cohen Directed by Reggie  Phoenix Anne and Emmett is a play  that depicts an imagined  conversation between  Emmett Till, an African  American boy, and Anne  Frank, a German Jewish  girl. This conversation  takes place in "Memory,"  a non-specific afterlife or  alternate dimension. Each was killed when he/ she was a young  teenager because of  racial persecution  and hatred. SUNDAY, APRIL 28, 2019  AT 6:00 PM Tickets: $15, $10  available in-person at  MFAC Ticket Office and  through Ticketmaster.com MSU CHOIR Annual Spring Concert Sunday, May 5, 2019 at  4:00 PM A perennial favorite! It's a rite  of spring: the beautiful  music provided by the  acclaimed Morgan State   University Choir in their  Annual Spring Concert  with orchestral  accompaniment--with Dr.  Eric Conway at the helm.  This concert features  excerpts from: "Mass" by Leonard  Bernstein "Healing Tones" by  Hannibal Lokumbe Gospel classics and  Great Hymns Join the Morgan State  University Choir as they  close yet another  triumphant season. Their  rich, signature sound,  the breadth of their  performance styles, and  the vocal skills make this  celebrated choir a much  sought after ensemble.  Plan on a 3:00  arrival to allow time  for parking, etc. When  the conductor's baton  drops, the doors close  until designated breaks  for seating, per our late  seating policy Tickets: $25, $20, $10  available in-person at  MFAC Ticket Office and  via Ticketmaster.com
