March 13, 2019 Colburn Celebrity Series presented bass baritone Eric
Owens, tenor Lawrence Brownlee, and Myra Huang piano at Disney Concert
Hall. The solo and duo performances were a first for a Los Angeles
audience at Disney Concert Hall. The program approached perfection with
opera arias during the opening half with spirituals and art songs after
the intermission. I sat next to a couple of professional singers who
shouted BRAVO after nearly every song and volunteered "It doesn't get
