This morning, WJZ-TV promoted our Groovin’ in the 60s Revue on their On Time program of community events.  See below a YouTube link to the segment featuring a class of 68’ spokesperson Ruth Mayden and Morgan choir member Kiya Wright eloquently talking about our event next Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 4 PM in Gilliam Concert Hall.

On Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 4PM, Morgan’s Fine and Performing Arts Department, in cooperation with Morgan’s Class of ’68, will present a musical revue of the sixties entitled:
Let’s Go Back in Time: Groovin’ in the 60s.
Although the sixties was an era of great political activity, the distinctive music of the sixties was a great release to the political unrest of the times. Morgan students will perform some of the most popular music from the era, including music of Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells, Supremes, Temptations, James Brown, Martha Reeves and Vandellas, and the Beatles to name a few.  Beyond song, Morgan students will dance, perform popular instrumental music, and well as spoken word from the period.  Many current Morgan students have felt an attachment to the music of this era, and this revue will allow them to showcase their enthusiasm.
Please plan on attending - one performance ONLY in our beautiful 2000+ seat Gilliam Concert Hall in the Murphy Fine Arts Center.  Tickets are $25 general admission and may be purchased via Ticketmaster or directly at the Murphy Fine Arts Box Office.  Hope to see you there!
