Part 17-LBCAA 30 year history

President Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862. The Proclamation stipulated that if the Southern States did not cease their rebellion by January 1, 1863, then the Proclamation would go into effect and free all slaves residing in territory in rebellion against the federal government.

MusicUNTOLD and KUSC Classical Radio 91.5 FM partnered to present a chamber music concert to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 2012 at the AT&T Center Theater, Los Angeles. Gail Eichenthal (KUSC Radio) was program host. The headliners were Soprano Latonia Moore (sensational March 3, 2012 debut at the Metropolitan Opera with live radio broadcast), Baritone Donnie Ray Albert (three Opera Grammy awards), Tenor George Shirley (Opera Grammy and over 250 performances at Metropolitan Opera), Nokuthula Ngwenyama (renowned violist and President of American Viola Society), Sanford Allen (legendary violinist and first African American to become regular member of New York Philharmonic Orchestra) in addition to other outstanding artists.

The concert was the first music event of LBCAA/MusicUNTOLD outside the City of Long Beach, Ca. The concert received delayed broadccast via KUSC 91.5 FM Radio and 30 day podcast. Please see attachment for pic of touring artists (Soprano Latonia Moore, Violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Soprano Jammieca Mott, Violinist Annelle Gregory, Pianist/Composer Richard Thompson, Baritone Donnie Ray Albert, Tenor George Shirley, and Violinist Sanford Allen) arriving at AT&T Center Theater and detailed performance program covering all artist and music performed.
