Bursaries for Orchestra Course: Our training pathway has been created to nurture the musical development of South Africa’s finest young musicians

Bursaries for Orchestra Course

A Campaign for South African National Youth Orchestra Foundation

Our musicians (past and present) are doing chamber music concerts "Chamber Music for Change" across South Africa and the world to raise funds for bursaries for young musicians who could otherwise not afford to come to orchestra courses. Show your support by donating to their cause!

We would like to raise funds for bursaries for transport and course fees for 10 young, talented musicians in 2017. As we reach musicians from across South Africa and from all backgrounds, not everyone can afford to join us - unless they have a little help! Transport to and from the course costs ZAR2000 and the course bursary costs ZAR5000. Any contribution towards this would be much appreciated.

The South African National Youth Orchestra Foundation is the leader of the youth orchestral movement in the country, inspiring young musicians to pursue the highest standards of musical performance.

We’d love every young South African musician, regardless of financial or geographical barriers, to be able to attend our programme this year. Your sponsorship of a musician will contribute to continued musical excellence and national development.

Please help us to LET A CHILD PLAY!

The National Youth Orchestra was founded in 1964 and formalised in 1979 in the National Youth Orchestra Foundation. In its sparkling history it has hosted annual orchestra courses, concerts, international and national tours and workshops for young musicians, and has become one of South Africa’s most successful music institutions.

Our training pathway has been created to nurture the musical development of South Africa’s finest young musicians, from emerging gifted school-age students to those on the verge of a professional career. Along the way our concerts bring delight to thousands.

The South African National Youth Orchestra Foundation as a non-profit organisation and Public Benefit Organisation puts all donations to the best possible use.
