Hello Fine and Performing Arts Community,
If you are at all available and interested, please note a unique performing arts event occurring this weekend.
The Morgan State University Jazz Ensemble will present a concert of music and readings entitled Sing Me a Dream.
This is not an ordinary concert, but a wonderful jazz music with much
grand oratory to amplify the music. The music is composed by Morgan
alumnus Benny Russell. The spoken texts were written by Ozzie Davis,
Langston Hughes, and James Weldon Johnson. Melvin Miles will direct
the ensemble with Shirley Dunlap directing spoken texts interspersed
throughout the performance. There are only three shows - tonight,
tomorrow afternoon, and tomorrow night (see flyer attached). If this
sounds intriguing, plan on attending one of these performances. Enjoy!
