Attended multi-ethnic, multi-generational, interfaith January 14, 2017
annual concert celebrating life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sponsored
by Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA) and Southern
Christian Leadership Conference. The largely choral program included the
combined choirs of Leo Baeck Temple, University of Southern California
Thornton Chamber Singers and ICYOLA Choir. The orchestra consisted of
combined players of Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and ICYOLA conducted
by Maestro Jeffrey Kahane of LA Chamber Orchestra or Maestro Charles
Dickerson of ICYOLA. The deeply engaging program included four
spirituals from the secular oratorio "A Child of our Time" by Sir
Michael Tippett conducted by Maestro Kahane featuring soprano Diane
White-Clayton, mezzo-soprano, Aleta Braxton, tenor Haquami Sharp, and
