Prof. Godwin Sadoh writes:

ON THIS DAY--November 6, 1976: Nigerian organist-composer, Ayo Bankole (sr.) and his wife Toro, were both brutally murdered in the early hours while sleeping in their own bedroom, by his own half brother.  Bankole attended a concert the previous night (Nov. 5th) in which his very good friend and colleague, Christopher Oyesiku sang his Yoruba arias.
May their souls continue to Rest in the bosom of the Lord!!
