Ignatius Sancho (1729-1780) is featured at AfriClassical.com  He was an African slave who became a composer and author, and was Britain's first Black voter

The Afro-American Chamber Music Society Orchestra is proud to announce the release of "Minuets & Optional Dances" by Ignatius Sancho on CD Baby Internationally.

Please invite your friends, colleagues and students to purchase this CD to further the promotion of our Black Classical Music Legacy.

During the month of October 2016, Minuets from the CD recording will be aired over BBC Radio in a 10-part Radio Series. 

Thank you all for supporting the efforts of AACMSO to revive and promote the music of Black Symphonists since our debut over KUSC Classical Radio in 1989.  Currently,  the Sancho CD of Minuets & Optional Dance Score and Parts along with the CD and DVD recordings have been archived in the British Library Repository in London. It was the only featured Sancho recording at the West Africa Exhibit from October 2015 to February 2016 held at the British Library.
