Hello Friend,

We want to invite you, your family and friends to be part of the unique CutTime® experiences this week. We are sharing classical and even symphonic music like no other ensemble in the world.

Sure, some have added drums occasionally to draw new audience, but none have brought toy percussion for audience to join in with the drummer in just the right places.

Sure, composers have blended classical with rock, jazz, Latin and gospel elements before; but none have integrated these elements with various amounts of dramatic subtlety and emotion "like they were never separate styles of music" as Greg Sandow put it.

And no one has ever explained the burning-but-unasked questions that open up the value of classical music to new audiences as we have.  Why is it called classical? What's with all the concert hall rules? What's in it for me? How can I find meaning without lyrics? Can I conduct? Curious people want to know how they can use classical, and we have answers, effective metaphors and demonstrations ready.

So come out this week and bring your curiosity, family and friends who don't GET classical music. We'll turn them all on!

Tuesday, July 12 noon - 2p @ Campus Martius Park, Detroit, free

Wednesday, July 13 7p-9 in Steinway Piano Gallery, Commerce, tickets $20 Wine available.

Saturday, July 16 4:45p-5:40 @ McGregor Library lawn, Highland Park, free

We'll have popular classics by Bach, Brahms, Ellington, Joplin, Beethoven and of course Mr. Mozart. A march, a waltz, a Hungarian dance and a rag will complement my own popular dance works, Pork 'n Beans and Highland Park, MI: City of Trees. We'll also pay musical tribute to all the gentle, caring people who tragically perished in gun violence in the last month with the dramatic elegy, First Grief.

Together we can unite disparate communities with music. Please spread the word and we'll see you soon!
