CHICAGO—Bass-Baritone Eric Owens has graciously agreed to step in as the bass soloist for the upcoming performances of Bruckner’s Te Deum featuring the CSO and Chorus led by Riccardo Muti on June 23, 25 and 26.
Owens replaces bass Christof Fischesser, who has withdrawn from these performances due to illness. Other featured soloists for these performances remain the same and include soprano Erin Wall, mezzo-soprano Okka von der Damerau and tenor Steve Davislim. The program for June 23, 25 and 26 remains unchanged and also includes Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9.
American Bass-Baritone Eric Owens made his CSO subscription debut in 2008 in performances of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor led by guest conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.  Owens has also appeared with the CSO and Riccardo Muti in performances of Verdi’s Otello (2011) and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (2014).
Tickets for the CSOA-presented performances are available at cso.org, via phone at 312-294-3000, or in person at the Symphony Center box office, 220 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago.
