Enjoy an afternoon of comic and satirical opera on Father’s Day, June 19 when South Shore Opera Company presents Gian Carlo Menotti’s “The Telephone” and Kurt Weill’s “The Seven Deadly Sins.” In “The Telephone,” Ben’s effort to propose to Lucy is constantly interrupted by her telephone. In “The Seven Deadly Sins,” Anna is sent by her family to seek their fortune and her adventure in seven American cities—each with a penchant for one of the seven sins! Chicago soprano Elizabeth Norman-Sojourner portrays Lucy and Leah Dexter Anna, with a cast of prominent Chicago operatic singers, and instrumentalists from the Chicago Symphony and Chicago Sinfonietta, directed by Leslie B.
