Dr. Eric Conway: Reflecting on the Cars in Cuba! Many of the cars looked as though they just came off of dealer showrooms, particularly in Havana.

Dr. Eric Conway writes:

The Morgan choir is safely back home in the U.S. of A!   As we all are reviewing the hundreds of photos taken while in Cuba, we cannot help but to marvel at the beautiful classic cars in Cuba.  Due to the ban on importing cars from America in 1959, Cuba has had to keep the American cars that were already in their possession running.  Cubans, not having access to parts, have had to make parts themselves for these old cars.  The amazing thing for us was the pristine condition of the cars.  Many of the cars looked as though they just came off of dealer showrooms, particularly in Havana.  See attached many of the pics I took of these amazing vehicles!
