Kenari Quartet wins at M-Prize Competition!

This past Thursday, the Kenari Quartet took home the 1st prize in the winds division at the M-Prize competition, which had over 170 applicants from 13 countries.

The quartet will appear on an August 26th concert in conjunction with INTERSECT, a music festival located in New York City's Bryant Park.  In 2015, the Kenari Quartet was awarded a Classical Commissioning Grant from Chamber Music America to commission a new work from the quartet's very own tenor saxophonist, Corey Dundee.  The Bryant Park concert will be the world premiere of Corey's new work for saxophone quartet!

This commission has been made possible by the Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Program, with generous funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Chamber Music America Endowment Fund.

On June 18th at 7:30pm, the Kenari Quartet will be presenting a 2-hour chamber music recital with the Quogue Chamber Music Society.  In addition to the recital, the quartet will also be giving performances at nearby public schools.

Don't forget about the Kenari Quartet's upcoming album! NAXOS has scheduled the album to be released in mid-December of this year.  Stay tuned for  more updates on our album as well as new projects!
