With Black theatre companies being an endangered species, the NAACP Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch’s  25th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards was a significant recognition for those who keep Black theatre alive and mainstream theatre for casting Black shows. The awards included 32 categories which encompass local and equity winners. Congratulations to all nominees and winners. While accepting an award for The TALLEST TREE, Mr. Douglas C. Baker (producing director-Ahmanson Theatre-Center Theater Group), mentioned the upcoming Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, August 31-Oct 16, 2016, will complete the full cycle of all twelve August Wilson's plays at the Ahmanson Theatre. See picture with Ron Hasson, President. NAACP Hollywood/Beverly Hills Branch in lobby of Nate Holden Performing Arts Center.
