After Bass Baritone Kevin Devas sang the aria "I Made Me A Man" from Adolphus Hailstork Opera Rise for Freedom: The John P Parker Story by Bass Baritone Kevin Devas during the 150th Anniversary 13th Amendment Abolition of Slavery Concert, November 21, 2015 at DAR Constitution Hall, Washington DC, composer Adolphus Hailstork was introduced and asked to stand and be recognized by off camera host Danyel Johnson. The response was slow building and grew louder as more and more recognized that Adolphus Hailstork was actually present and standing in the audience. Unfortunately, Dr. Hailstork did not read the announcement for the location of the artist reception following the concert. See his comment below:

Subject: Re: Artist reception - missed announcement.
Hi John,

So sorry I missed this announcement! Darn!  I don't read e-mail enough and miss a lot.
Well it is not too late to say thank you to you for the opportunity to be included in your important program. At Constitution Hall!
Used to attend concerts there as a student at Howard. Please pass on my thanks to performers.  I will try to reach them personally, also.

I hope we may meet again.  I send good wishes for the continued success of your vital and necessary program.

Adolphus

We will not make a public announcement about the reception. Please share with family & friends the reception location
Lower Lounge or Texas Lone Star Lounge

Thanks

John
