John Malveaux: 'I Dream A World' by Dr. Rosephanye Powell, with words by Langston Hughes, included in MusicUNTOLD Freedom Concert 7 PM May 24, 2015 in Los Angeles

MusicUNTOLD will include I Dream A World by choral composer Dr. Rosephanye Powell to Free FREEDOM  CONCERT of May 24, 2015 in Los Angeles to celebrate 150th anniversary of End of Civil War and 13th Amendment Abolition of Slavery. The work features the words by Langston Hughes that inspired Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This is an anthem for all those who believe in human rights, in peace and hope for a better tomorrow.
 
John Malveaux first met Dr. Powell in 2009 when she received the “Living Legend Award” presented by California State University African Diaspora Sacred Music Festival in Los Angeles and he attend a choral performance of her music at Auburn University. She was listed in the first edition of the international publication Who Is Who in Choral Music. And, she has been included in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Outstanding Young Women in America in recent years. Dr. Powell is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the College Music Society (CMS), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the Music Educators National Conference (MENC).
