Please join us on April 28th as we wrap up our 2015-2016 "The Song Goes On" series at The San Diego Museum of Art with a concert that celebrates the wonderfully varied melodic and harmonic language of today's most exciting composers. The captivating mix of 21st century works features music by New York composers Missy Mazzoli (in spite of all this) and Judd Greenstein (Clearing, Dawn, Dance), both associated with Brooklyn's recording upstart New Amsterdam Records, known for producing genre-defying new work. Dance lovers will recall Greenstein's moving composition "At the End of a Really Great Day" as part of last season's Lifeblood Harmony collaboration with Malashock Dance. The April 28th program also features Georgian composer Giya Kancheli (A Little Daneliade), English composer and jazz bassist Gavin Bryars (Epilogue from Wonderlawn) and the West Coast premiere of Grammy-nominated composer Chris Brubeck's clarinet quintet, co-commissioned by Art of Élan and members of the Muir String Quartet.

"The Song Goes On" series has paid homage to the beauty and power of the human voice and that timeless expression of the human spirit--opera. With this final concert, which will be held in the larger James S. Copley Auditorium at The San Diego Museum of Art in order to accommodate a larger audience, we conclude our exploration of classical music and song that has featured the return of The Myriad Trio, the Art of Élan debut of sparkling soprano Priti Gandhi, and a performance by Art of Élan's first-ever "ensemble in residence," The Formosa Quartet.

If we haven't had a chance to see you yet this season, please consider joining us on April 28th and learn about some of the exciting events we have planned for next season, as well as our June concerts at The Glashaus in Barrio Logan and at Lux Art Institute in Encinitas. Tickets for April 28th are available online or by calling the Museum at: 619.232.7931.
