MELODEON’S first commissioned work, From the Depth of the Spirit: A Tribute to the Fisk Jubilee Singers® by Paul
Kwami is written for Marti Newland and Artis Wodehouse playing an
antique American reed organ. Dr. Kwami is the current director of the
Fisk Jubilee Singers, the first African American group to introduce
Spirituals to white audiences world-wide.
