Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra: A Night with the Arts in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Monday, January 19, 6 PM, Tennessee Theatre

Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra


The Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra presents Night with the Arts: A Celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m. This concert is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and will take place at the Tennessee Theatre. 

No tickets are required.

This concert is presented with support from the Lura-Lee G. and William E. Lange Foundation, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission of Greater Knoxville and Knox County Commissioner Amy Broyles.
This year's theme is "Remembering the Past While Standing in the Future".  It will be a true celebration of the arts with different musical forms and spoken word: gospel, jazz, classical, dance, drama, and poetry!  KSO pieces include: Down A Country Lane, Copland; Strut, Michael Daugherty.  KSO Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum will be joined by the Celebration Choir, directed by Aaron Staple. Sché Productions will also be putting on an original play featuring Knoxville locals.
