Dan Ellen Joseph, membership chair, Georgia Laster Branch of NANM shared recollections with me of Henry Lewis who broke racial barriers as a youth musician and international conductor. Dan Ellen was a percussionist who played in an award winning Jr. hIgh school orchestra with Henry Lewis and recognized his extraordinary musical gifts as a bass player. Henry Lewis was born October 16th.
