Eric Conway: Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, 6:30-8:30 PM, Fine and Performing Arts Dept. hosts reception for exhibition of works of Ed Towles, Murphy Fine Arts Center

Eric Conway, D.M.A.:

Hello everyone,

On this coming Thursday, October 16, 2014, 6:30-8:30 the Fine and Performing Arts Department will host a reception to kick-off a very significant exhibition featuring the works of Ed Towles.  The reception will be held in the James E. Lewis Gallery in Murphy Fine Arts Center.  Ed Towles was the Art Director for Black Enterprise Magazine during its first ten years of publication.  During his tenure, he collaborated with several world-class artists to create covers of Black Enterprise Magazine that have gone on to be collector's items.

Black Enterprise was founded by Morgan State Univeristy Alumnus, Earl Graves.  This exhibition precedes the opening of the new building housing the Earl Graves School of Business and Management (scheduled to open in September 2015).

It is very appropriate that his exhibition will open, this coming Thursday, in the midst of Morgan's Homecoming Activities.  Please come out to our opening reception to see several iconic Black Enterprise covers displayed, and to talk directly with Mr. Towles.  Who knows, Earl Graves himself may be in attendance!

Eric
