California State University, Los Angeles Department of Music, Dance, and
Theatre and MusicUNTOLD, co-producers of the 150th Anniversary concert
to celebrate the 13th Amendment-ending slavery scheduled January 17,
2015 at Luckman Performing Arts Complex, will program three American
composers. Maestro Renée Baker, founder/conductor of the
Chicago Modern Orchestra Project will conduct Roy Harris 'Bicentennial
Symphony' aka '14th Symphony' and Ulysses Kay 'Once There Was A Man'.
Dr. Emily Moss, Director of Bands and Director of Instrumental Music
Education California State University, Los Angeles will conductor Aaron
Copland 'Lincoln Portrait'. Dr. Sébastien Vallée California State University, Los Angeles is Director of Choirs for the program.
All
of MusicUNTOLD programs/concerts are FREE to the public except a single
annual ticketed concert. With great appreciation, MusicUNTOLD welcome
Colburn Foundation as first sponsor of 150th Anniversary-13th Amendment
Concert.
